What is Workers University?

We’re a social learning network based in Tokyo. Our seminars are all in English and are for personal and professional development.

Where can I find you guys?

We’re a pop-up, so we have no fixed address. The current location of our classroom is shown on our website. You can use the contact form below to get in touch with us outside classroom hours.

Who can join seminars at Workers University?

Anyone can attend as long as they have a reasonable understanding of English. Your English doesn’t need to be perfect in order to join. Around 50% of our members are native or fluent English speakers, and the other 50% are still learning the language.

Do you offer English language courses?

Yes, we have some classes especially for people learning English for a specific purpose such as work or study abroad. 

How do I become a member?

You automatically become a member when you subscribe to our newsletter or attend your first seminar. There’s no registration process or fee.

How do I register for a seminar?

Please register online using the link on the event page. You need to purchase your ticket in advance in order to secure your place.

How much does it cost to attend a seminar?

Costs sometimes vary between events, but the average fee is ¥3000.

How can I pay for my ticket?

You can pay by credit card, Paypal, ATM or bank transfer. Cash payment on the door is also an option, but we cannot guarantee you a place.

Is there a refund policy for advance ticket purchases?

Yes, we will give you a 100% refund if the event is cancelled or rescheduled for any reason, or if you choose to cancel more than 24 hours in advance.

Can I ask my company to pay the seminar fee?

Yes, many of our members expense the fee. We will issue a receipt on your arrival if requested.

Do you issue certificates?

No, that’s not what we’re about. If you ask nicely, we can draw you a certificate, but the entire episode would be embarrassing for both sides.

Can you sponsor a Japan student visa?

No, we’re not an accredited educational institution and we don’t offer any full-time courses.
